About Our Events

School/Team & School Solo/Duo/Trio Events

Who is invited to participate: All Elementary, Jr. High, Middle School, and High School Teams are invited!! Soloists, Duos, and Trios that are members of a school team are also eligible to participate in this School Event.

Can a soloist, duo, or trio sign up to participate in WCD Nationals if their school team is NOT participating as a team in the event? YES, absolutely!! Any soloist, duet, or trio is welcome to compete as long as you are currently a member of a school Team or performing Dance Company.

What type of floor surface do the teams compete on? The competition facility is a large beautiful gymnasium floor with the typical floor markings on a basketball court … three point lines, basketball key lines, volleyball lines, and center circle. The court is a “college” length court with plenty of seating for all spectators.

Can you save seats? This event is “bleacher” style seating. We ask that you DO NOT save seats. This will help us allow everyone the opportunity to sit and enjoy the amazing performances by those teams competing. Please get to your seats quickly so that we can keep the competition going without interruption. There is “disabled” wheelchair seating along the sides of the bleachers in the first two rows. NOTE: Coaches have VIP chairs set up at the very front of the performance floor for them to sit in during their own team’s performance. Coaches will rotate sitting in those VIP chairs as each routine is completed.

Dressing Rooms: There is plenty of space for all teams to utilize as dressing rooms. However, dressing rooms are SHARED spaces, so be sure to keep your belongings neat and organized. Leave all valuables home or with someone that you trust to watch over it. WCD and the host facility are NOT RESPONSIBLE for any stolen items. Please be courteous to other teams sharing your space and don’t spread out too much. Once your team is done performing for the day, please remove your belongings from the dressing room to allow space for another team to use.
